A report you can actually use
Detailed reporting is especially useful when more than one person needs to understand the result.
- Families can review the sale without relying on secondhand recollections.
- Executors and trustees have a clearer record for the estate file and conversations with beneficiaries or professional advisers.
- Attorneys and representatives can see the sale result in a consistent format.
- Homeowners on a deadline can connect settlement to the agreed plan for clearing the property.
This reporting supports good recordkeeping but is not legal or tax advice. Share it with the estate’s attorney or CPA when special requirements apply.
Frequently asked questions
Estate sale itemized reporting FAQ
What is an itemized estate sale report?
It is a post-sale record that identifies the items sold and the recorded sale price for each instead of providing only one gross total.
Does the report include staff purchases?
Estate Greats’ published policy says every staff purchase must run through Square like a customer purchase. Nothing leaves without a paid ticket.
Can a client prohibit staff purchases?
Yes. Clients may turn staff purchases off entirely for their sale.
What happens to items that do not sell?
Options can include donation, re-consignment, cleanout, disposal, or return to the family. The right plan is discussed before the sale begins.
