How to Make an Offer on an Estate Sale Item
See something you want but can’t make it to the sale — or want to name your own price? You can send us an offer online. Here is exactly how it works, what we can and cannot do, and when you will hear back.
Send an offer without being there
Every Estate Greats sale has its own offer page. You tell us the item and the price you are willing to pay, add a photo or a link if you have one, and leave a phone number. If we can do it, we text you back. It is that simple, and it costs nothing to try.
You can’t get there during sale hours
Working, traveling, or tied up every day we are open? Send your offer online and we will text you either way, then arrange a time to pick it up.
You want to name your own price
Think an item should go for less than the tag? Give us your number. Submitting costs nothing, and plenty of offers get accepted.
An offer is a backup for the times you cannot be there — not a substitute for the sale. First pick still goes to whoever walks through the door, and every item is collected in person.
How to make an offer in four steps
From listing photo to text message back — usually within the run of the sale.
Pick your sale
Open the offer page for the sale you are interested in. Upcoming sales accept offers before the doors ever open.
Tell us the item
Describe exactly what you want and add a photo or a link from the listing, so we know which piece you mean.
Name your price
Enter your offer, your name and a phone number. Submitting is free and commits you to nothing.
We text you back
Your offer goes to the team running that sale. If we can accept, we text you to arrange payment and pickup.

Free to submit · No obligation · Works before or during the sale
Three things worth knowing before you send one
Offers are simple, but a few of our rules and habits are worth understanding first.
We do not do presales — and that is deliberate
You are welcome to send an offer before the sale opens. What we will not do is sell you the item before everyone else gets a chance at it. No item leaves the house early, for anyone, at any price.
That rule protects both sides. Our sellers get the benefit of a real sale-day crowd bidding items up, and our shoppers get to walk into a house that has not already been picked over by insiders.
What happens after you submit
Your offer goes to the team running that specific sale. We look at it against the asking price, the interest we are seeing in that item, and where we are in the run of the sale. Offers on day three are treated very differently from offers on the morning of day one.
If we can accept, we text you to arrange payment and pickup at the sale. If we cannot, the item simply stays in the sale at its marked price and you are welcome to come buy it.
Tips that get offers accepted
- Be specific about which item you mean — a busy sale has a lot of lamps in it.
- Include a photo or a link from the listing wherever you can.
- Give a number rather than asking what we would take.
- Tell us when you can pick up. We do not ship, and an offer that clears the item quickly is worth more to us.
Estate Sale Offer FAQs
Can I buy an item before the estate sale opens?
No. Estate Greats does not do presales. You can send an offer in advance and we will consider it, but no item is sold or removed from the home before the sale opens to everyone.
How do I make an offer on an item?
Open the offer page linked from the sale you are interested in, tell us the item and your price, add a photo or link if you have one, and leave your name and phone number. Submitting an offer is free.
When will I hear back about my offer?
We text you if we can accept. Offers are reviewed by the team running that sale, and timing depends on where we are in the sale — offers later in a sale are often answered faster.
Do I have to pay anything to submit an offer?
No. Sending an offer costs nothing and does not commit you to anything until we agree on a price.
What if my offer is declined?
Nothing else happens. The item stays in the sale at its marked price, and you are welcome to come buy it — or catch it on a discount day if it is still there.
Do you ship items?
No. We do not ship anything. Every item is picked up in person at the sale address, so only send an offer on something you or someone you send can collect while the sale is running.
Making an offer on an estate sale item in Nashville
Estate Greats runs estate sales across Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood and the rest of Middle Tennessee, and every one of those sales has its own offer page. If you cannot get to the house — or you simply think a piece should sell for less than the tag — you can send us your price online and we will look at it the same way we would look at an offer made in person.
Offers are especially useful if you spotted something in our listing photos but cannot get to the house while the sale is open. Be specific about the item, include a photo or a link, give a real number, and tell us when you could pick it up. We do not ship — every item is collected in person at the sale address.
What we will never do is sell an item before the sale opens. No presales, for anyone, at any price — that is how our sellers get a real sale-day crowd and how our shoppers walk into a house that has not been picked over. Send an offer on an upcoming or current sale, or browse all upcoming estate sales.
